Privacy Policy
Template notice: this is a general-purpose starting point, not legal advice, and doesn't replace a proper GDPR compliance review (Malta and the rest of the EU are covered by the GDPR). Have a professional review it, and register with Malta's Information and Data Protection Commissioner if required, before relying on it.

What we collect
Account details: name, email address and (optionally) phone number when you create an account, plus a securely hashed password. We never store your password itself.
Order & shipping details: the items you buy, order status, and the shipping address you give Stripe at checkout. Payment card details are entered directly into Stripe's own checkout page and never touch our servers.
Custom quote uploads: when you use the "Get a quote" tool, your 3D model is opened and measured in your browser while you try out sizes and materials. When you add it to your cart, a copy at the size you chose is saved on our server so we can check the price and print it. We keep it with your order, and delete it after 30 days if you don't place an order.
B2B inquiries: company name, contact name, email, phone and the details of your requirements, when you submit the B2B partnership form.
Messages: your name, email, optional phone number and message, when you use the "Message us" box on the Get a quote or Studio pages. If you tick the box to include your design, we also receive a small picture of it, its settings and the 3D model itself (as an STL file). Any photos you choose to attach are received too. We use these only to reply to you.
Why we collect it
To create and manage your account, process and fulfil orders, respond to B2B inquiries, and communicate with you about orders you've placed. We don't sell your personal data, and we don't use it for advertising.
Who we share it with
Payment processing is handled by Stripe, which receives what it needs to process your payment and collect a shipping address (see Stripe's privacy policy). We don't share your data with anyone else except where required by law.
How long we keep it
Order records are kept for as long as needed for accounting, warranty and legal purposes [placeholder: state your actual retention period]. You can ask us to delete your account and associated personal data at any time, subject to what we're legally required to keep (e.g. for tax records).
Your rights
Under the GDPR, you can ask to access, correct, delete, or export the personal data we hold about you, and you can object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise any of these, contact us at layerlabsprinting@gmail.com. If you're unhappy with our response, you can complain to Malta's Information and Data Protection Commissioner (idpc.org.mt) or your own country's equivalent authority.
